Why should I get custom fit vs standard off the shelf?

Standard specifications are determined by each company to reflect the most commonly selected configuration of each product they manufacture. Each different companies standard specifications are likely to differ. While these specifications are the most commonly selected, less than 5% of golfers are suited to an entirely standard set of golf clubs.

Club fitting is an art form where by the Teacher/Professional can design equipment not to compensate for faults but to enhance a player’s ability to make his/her best athletic motion possible. This is done by treating the ball flight as a result of the capabilities of the body, the intention of the mind, and how the golf clubs influence the ball flight.

By being custom fit, the selection of the right model, shaft, shaft flex, lie, length, grip, and grip size will allow the golfer to play to their full potential.

Where should you be custom fit - indoors or outdoors?

With continued improvement in the computer assisted analysis of the golf swing and ball flight, indoor fitting is becoming more and more popular and effective. The ability to remove any guess work or computer margin of error, by seeing full ball flight under true golfing conditions On the Course is preferred.

Does a custom set of golf clubs cost more than a set on the showroom floor?

Subject to the manufacturer & model selected, in most cases the cost of a fully custom fit set will cost no more than a standard stock set. There maybe an up charge associated with the selection of some varying shafts and or grips. The final price for your set will be determined by your fitter after all components have been selected and discussed with you.

Does it cost more to be fit with a launch monitor?

Many of our centres use a ball flight monitors – such machines give us valuable information such as - backspin and sidespin rates, club head speeds, where the club head is travelling through impact, how hard the ball is being compressed, and most importantly why certain shafts, heads and weights of club work better than others.

If purchasing a new set, most fitters include there professional and technical expertise at no charge as part of their service. Charges and conditions will vary by location and we suggest that you confirm these details with your selected fitter.

How long will it take my custom golf clubs to arrive?

Delivery time will vary depending on which companies product is selected. Most custom made sets are delivered in 10 to 14 days.

What is the Player Evaluation?

An essential part of the fitting process is a complete understanding of your current golfing performance and your future golfing objectives. By completing a club fitting questionnaire, your professional will learn key information about your golf game which will provide a starting point in the fitting process.

How long will it take to be fit?

This will depend on your requirement: IE only one club, EG A driver only; or if you’re wanting a full set. A full fitting could last up to an hour and a half. If you are working with your local professional who knows your game this time can be reduced. We recommend that you provide your professional with a completed Club Fit Questionnaire prior to undertaking your fitting session. This background information relating to your game, together with your fitting session will assist the professional in determining your requirements for game improvement.
